Our DNA sexed female Silkie chicks are professionally tested and confirmed female before they leave us. Chicks are under 6 weeks old, and are usually around 2–3 weeks old when available. Colors vary based on what we’re currently hatching.
Shipping: Minimum of 4 chicks per order, with a maximum of 8 chicks per shipping box.

Want a Silkie hen without the guessing game? Our DNA sexed female chicks are tested through a professional DNA sexing lab so you can shop with confidence.
These sweet little girls are available in a variety of colors and are raised right here at Route 99 Silkies with the same care we give our breeding flock. Whether you're adding to your backyard flock, building a breeding program, or just need another fluffy little Silkie in your life (we get it), these girls are ready to find their new homes.

Please note: Color availability varies depending on what is hatching. If you have a specific color preference, you can include it with your order and we'll do our best to match you when available. If not available, we will match the next closest color.
Minimum 4 to ship
Silkies are ornamental poultry and are not sexed by appearance alone. DNA testing gives you a much more reliable answer than trying to guess based on chick characteristics.
Rooster chicks are free with purchase of a female chick. If you would like rooster chicks, send us and email when you place your order!
Shipping & Returns
We know it can be a little nerve-wracking waiting for your new babies to arrive, so we do everything we can to make shipping as safe and smooth as possible.
Chicks are shipped using USPS Priority Mail Express in approved live-chick shipping boxes with appropriate heat/cooling support when needed. We carefully plan shipping days around hatch dates, weather, and postal schedules to give your chicks the best possible trip.
A few things to know:
- Chicks are shipped on our scheduled shipping days.
- Shipping dates may be adjusted for extreme weather or other conditions that could put the chicks at risk.
- Transit times are not guaranteed and can vary once the package is in the hands of the postal service.
- You’ll receive tracking information once your chicks ship.
- Please make sure someone is available to receive the chicks when they arrive.
- Your local post office may contact you when the chicks arrive, so keeping an eye on your tracking and phone is important.
